Local Market Tour and Cooking Demo with a Homemade Russian Meal in St Petersburg

You will meet Alexander at Gor'kovskaya metro station and walk to Sytnyy rynok market (Сы́тный ры́нок), the oldest market of St. Petersburg, where you will get a private tour and discover traditional ingredients used in Russian cooking.

After your market tour, your host Alexander and his wife will offer a cooking demo in their open-style, modern and tidy kitchen. If the season is right, he will show you how to make a dish that he prepares by wrapping a whole fish in dough and baking it with onions and dill. You will learn about the Komi people and their history in Russia as you watch him cook this specialty dish. 

After the cooking demonstration, you will sit together and enjoy the meal your host has prepared for you. Alexander is full of interesting information about the history of the neighborhood and their country. He and his wife are wonderful conversationalists.
