When you tour with non-profit Save Our Cemeteries you are helping to preserve and protect the historic cemeteries of New Orleans. Our tours are small (usually under 15 people) and historically accurate.
On this walking tour, you will unveil the symbolism and beautiful cemetery tomb architecture and learn about both New Orleans' unique and traditional funeral practices. The stories of New Orleans notable and notorious are abundant along the way.
St. Louis No. 2, (right behind St. Louis No 1) is the final resting place of Canonized Henriette DeLille, Emperor of the Universe Ernie K-Doe, African American Civil War Hero Andre Cailloux, and many other amazing people who shaped New Orleans. St. Louis No. 2 is included on the National Register of Historic Places and the Louisiana African American Heritage Trail.
