Your day trip starts with hotel pickup in Ho Chi Minh City for the 45-minute drive to the town of Can Duo, where you'll stop by a rural market to see locals selling their specialties. During your visit, you can purchase some fruit to enjoy later with lunch.
Head next toward Tan Hoa, observing countryside farming activities like drying rice, planting cabbage, and watering hyacinth, which is used to craft baskets, and stop in the village of Tan Trung and see a temple of the Cao Dai, a Vietnamese religious movement that combines beliefs of other religions. When you arrive in Tan Hoa, you'll enjoy some local activities. Taste coconut or sugarcane juice at a garden, relax in a hammock, and go for a scooter ride with a local driver to see remote villages, lush fields, and duck and goat farms.
Just after midday, continue your day trip to Tan Thanh Beach for a seafood lunch at a waterfront restaurant, and then make the 1-hour drive to My Tho, stopping on the way at Vinh Trang Temple. When you arrive at the pier in My Tho, hop on a motorboat for a cruise along the Mekong River to reach Ben Tre, where you'll visit coconut candy and handicraft workshops, take a horse-cart ride, and travel along a canal on a smaller boat to experience more of life on the river. Finally, walk along a village road to reach your tour vehicle in Ben Tre for the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City, where your day trip ends with drop-off in the early evening.
