Why take this tour?

Did you know that Sao Paulo hosts the biggest Japanese community outside Japan and the biggest Italian community in the world? Liberdade, place with a strong and very long history, once place of executions and militar district, became about 100 years ago the place of settlement of the Japanese immigrants. Bixiga, once a area of Afro-Brazilian resistance was occupied around the 40's by Italians from Calabria, running away from the misery and the horrors of the II World War This 2 neighborhoods, very close to each others, are erroneously and simply considered the Japanese and Italian neighborhoods of Sao Paulo, while they're actually places of great ethnic diversity! All this diversity can be very well synthesized in its peculiar and different cuisine. Ready to taste Japanese pastel with sugar cane juice, discover about Brazilian sushi and get a sandwich of carne louca before to end with a cannoli ;)

About operator:

Concrete Jungles Walking Tours is a project and an idea of Giuliano Orlando, a professional licensed Tour Guide in Sao Paulo! History, Graffiti, Urban and Cultural are 4 different Free Walking Tours to learn about history, immigration, street art and modernism, discovering the importance of coffee for this city and why Sao Paulo has become one of the biggest cities in the world! Please remember, to ensure an unparalleled experience, I have set a limit of 10 people for each walking tour. And if you're looking for a deeper insight check my TripAdvisor Experiences! My walking tours (free or paid) are provided even with only 1 participant, for this reason, I kindly ask you to confirm your presence (I'd like to remind you that I offer my walking in English but between one stop and the other, when possible, we can always talk in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian too )
