Nijo Castle was built by Ieyasu Tokugawa in the 8th year of Keicho (1603) as an accommodation for the protection of the Kyoto Imperial Palace and the Shogun of the Shogun, and moved the remains of Fushimi Castle by the 3rd Shogun Iemitsu. (1626) completed. You can get a glimpse of the whole picture of the Momoyama period by combining Ieyasu's architecture of the Keicho period and paintings and sculptures made by Iemitsu.
