Kosher Style Food Tour of the Upper West Side

Meet the NYC licensed tour guide at the NW corner of Broadway and West 79th Street at Noon.   (Closest subway station is 79th Street on the   #1 line.)  

Stroll along the Upper West Side's main thoroughfare to find out what makes it an attractive neighborhood for Jewish families.  Learn about traditional Jewish food and enjoy a total of seven tastings from Zabar's, the Kosher Marketplace and Murray's Sturgeon Shop.   Visit the only remaining store selling Judaica items and their significance in religious practices.   

There will be time to make purchases of food and other items at each of the stores.

Tour ends at about 2:30pm at West 92nd Street and Broadway, close to the 96th Street #1, #2 and #3 subway lines.

The Upper West Side Jewish community is still as vibrant as its illustrious past. During this 2 hour tour, learn about Judaism, its rites and rituals, the  sects, and KASHRUTH.  The tour begins at one of NYC's favorite appetizing store, Zabar's. Gaze upon one of the largest selections of mouth-watering ready to eat on-the- spot foods. Then its a visit to the Zabar's Cafe for two tastings. West Side Judaica & Bookstore is next. Learn about some items on display and their roles in observance of Judaism. Two more stops, at Murray's Sturgeon Shop, a small and definitely a powerhouse of delicious appetizers. Wait till you taste the vegetarian chopped liver and chopped herring!  And lastly, the Jewish Marketplace, for everything kosher to sample two favorite side dishes.
