On the day of the excursion you will meet with the agent and embark on the boat at 9:30am. The skipper and crew will do an introduction for you to get familiar with the boat facilities, safety regulations, duration and sights of trip and current sea conditions. Korcula is situated 50 nautical miles northwest of Dubrovnik and the ride will last approximately 2-hours. Besides pleasant navigation, on your way from Dubrovnik to Korcula you will have an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of surrounding islands and Dubrovnik littoral. Upon our arrival, the boat will dock in front of the old town and right after you can start to explore Korcula town on your own or in the company of a tourist guide (recommended extra service) who will share with you all secrets of this Mediterranean medieval town. Surrounded by walls and considered one of the most romantic coastal cities in Croatia, nowadays it is the top destination for tourists cruising the Mediterranean. According to one legend, Korcula was founded by the Trojan hero Antenor. The town and Korcula island are mentioned for the first time in the 10th century while the civilization on the island goes much further back in time. The main interesting venues to visit are the cathedral, the city museum and the house that is believed to be a birthplace of famous traveler Marco Polo who was born in Korcula in 1254, as a son of a merchant. After finishing the tour of Korcula, you will have some free time for lunch and shopping on famous Korcula local market. Korcula's old town is abundant with souvenir shops and taverns serving Dalmatian specialties. If there is enough time and weather conditions permitting, there will be a stop to refresh and swim in one of the numerous bays along the way back to Dubrovnik via Elafiti Islands.
