Although Khao Lak is popular with tourists, the mountains and jungles surrounding the town are all but ignored by visitors. Most visitors automaticaly flock to the more famous Khao Sok national park for a taste of life in the tropical rainforest, often ignoring the fact that their hotels are surrounded by it.
Join us as we take you away from the tourists and up into the mountains for an insight into jungle life. After just a short drive we arrive at a little-known jungle temple, hidden in the Khoa Lak foothills. From here we begin our trek deep into the jungle.
Local people will often go into the jungle in search of food and natural resources. In the jungle our guide will explain some of the techniques used by local people for generations.
Once we emerge from the trees, we stop for lunch in a shady spot overlooked by the giant Buddha shrine, we can also feed the fish here before taking a drive down to a local sustainable farming project. Here we can learn more about the history of Khao Lak and relax with some Thai deserts and a cup of coffee before returning to your hotel.
