Key West Sandbar Safari on Tiki Boat

The crew was friendly and did a fine job, which is why I’m giving 2 stars. Unfortunately, the excursion itself was disappointing and did not feel worth the price. There wasn’t enough seating on the boat, leaving part of our party standing during the ride. Once we arrived at the sandbar, the only substantial floats provided were two large rings, which could only accommodate about half of the people on the excursion. Everyone else was left with old pool noodles that were basically useless for floating—I tried using five at once and still sank. They also provided a football to play with, but it was flat. The experience simply did not match what was advertised. The photos show several different floats and make it appear that there are plenty of options for guests to enjoy in the water. That was definitely not what we experienced. With multiple groups sharing the boat, there should be enough seating and water equipment for everyone. I’ve done other excursions at a lower price point that offered significantly more. For what we paid + giving a tip (which they recommend $25-30/person), this was disappointing, and I would not recommend it.

The crew guys were helpful and enthusiastic. I wish we had gotten to stay at the sandbar longer.

Surly staff from the woman who books you to the captain and mate. They only want your money they dont want you to have a good experience. the whole staff acts as if they could care less if you have a fun time. The boat was nice and we were excited for a good time but it was a forgettable experience.

Shay was the most amazing captain we could have asked for! She dodged the spotty storms and went above and beyond to deliver a top notch experience and find the perfect spot for us to safely enjoy the water. Dawson kept the drinks and the vibe flowing even in the rain. They both even swam drinks out to us on our floaties! This was a highlight of our weekend trip to Key West. 10/10 recommend!

The boat ride to and from the sand bar is very long. Seating cannot accommodate everyone on board so you could get stuck standing for the entire trip to and from the sand bar. The time at the actual sandbar seems very short an hour to maybe an hour and 15 min. Approximately an hour to destination, one hour/one hour 15 min at sand bar and an hour and 15 return. They do provide alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks throughout the trip, the crew is very friendly. If sand bar time is what means the most to you perhaps consider a private charter. This is more 2/3 boat drive with drinks and 1/3 Sand Bar time. The water was beautiful and the weather was beautiful for this trip but rain so always a possibility so keep that in mind since the boat is not completely covered. Definitely more of a booze cruise with a short stop at a beautiful sandbar than an actual sand bar cruise.
