Keelung Shore Excursion: Private Taipei City Sightseeing

Summary

Meet your guide upon pickup from the Keelung port and relax during the 1-hour drive to Taipei by minibus, passing alongside Taiwan's largest seaport en route to the capital. On arrival, soak up the bustling city scene as your guide points out major landmarks along Taipei’s streets. The National Palace Museum is the first stop on your shore excursion. Explore 8,000 years of Chinese history and culture during a 2-hour tour that includes an impressive collection of ancient Chinese paintings along with bronze, jade, ceramic and precious objects acquired by past emperors. After your visit, gaze up at Taipei 101, the world’s second tallest skyscraper, which boasts 106 floors and a high-end shopping center. Enjoy lunch at a locally renowned beef noodle soup restaurant before continuing by minibus past the Presidential Building on your way to Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Learn about the significance of the monument's design, a memorial to the former political and military leader. If time allows, watch the changing of the guard ceremony out front. Your guide points out the adjacent National Theater and Concert Hall, the country's leading performing arts center. After plenty of photo ops, take a 1-hour tour of Longshan Temple, Taipei’s oldest temple. Admire the many deities enshrined here and discover architectural features such as the elaborately carved wooden doors, stone and bronze beams, dragon-like poles and cavorting figures on the rooftops. Then complete your full-day shore excursion with a drive back to the Keelung port. Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required. Worry-free Shore Excursion: We will ensure your timely return to the Taipei port for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded.
