Meet your guide and the shop's competent staff and get outfitted with equipment and listen to a safety orientation and basic kayaking instruction. Before setting off on the self-guided tour, receive a briefing of the area and recommendations for making the most of your adventure. It’s relatively easy to paddle from Kailua Beach to the Mokulua Islands, Flat Island, and Lanikai Beach, and you have a choice of several spots to land. When finished, return to the shop to shower if desired. This tour is suitable for all experience levels and ages and includes a selection of lunch options. If you’re on the guided tour, head out to the Mokulua Island seabird sanctuary with your guide. Plus, take a dip in the freshwater pools at Queen's Bath on the island. Next, snorkel off Lanikai Beach and be on the lookout for sea turtles. This tour is suitable for fit kayakers, including children ages 13 years and older. A picnic lunch on the beach is provided.

Why take this tour?

This kayaking tour offers two ways to see the islands of Kailua Bay and its green sea turtles and bird sanctuaries—on a guided or self-guided tour. Those on the self-guided tour still receive area information and recommendations before setting out on their own. The small-group guided tour includes commentary on the area's plant and animal life. Both versions of the tour include lunch.

Free parking, showers and dressing rooms are available on site. Open 7 days/week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, including Holidays. No Kayak Rentals or Island Tours are permitted in Kailua on Sundays but we do rent paddle boards and all other equipment.
