Kayaking in the Danube Delta

Summary

We depart very early from Bucharest and head, by car, towards Tulcea, a city on the banks of the Danube, at the entrance in the Delta, and then to Murighiol on the Sfantu Gheorghe water channel. This is one of the three big arteries of the Danube in Delta. From here we jump into kayaks and look for the small and narrow channels where we can feel the Delta at its heart. It is a journey of joy and wonder. Reeds, water trees, birds and wild mammals make for a unforgettable landscape. All this complemented by the thrill of kayak and the slow pace which allows us to see everything around us.  Spellbound, we return to the same place and head back, late in the evening to Bucharest.

This tour is just a brief touch of the Delta of the Danube but one which will make you come back and for more. Because Delta is the region of superlatives: narrow water channels, wild fauna, isolation, sport. There is nothing like it in Europe.
