Choose either the Marina in the cruise port or the Marriott Royal St Kitts Lobby as your convenient pickup/drop off point. (The marina is a very short walk from the main cruise pier, and the Marriott is walking distance from other Frigate Bay Hotels). As your adventure begins, you will leave Basseterre and Frigate Bay behind as you climb Timothy Hill on the way to St Kitts' unique Southeast peninsula. Your driver will offer a photo stop here, perhaps take a moment to record the spectacular view down the peninsula, where the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea are often less than 200 meters apart.
At South Friars Beach, meet your guide, who will offer a basic lesson on Kayaking or refresher course based on your level of experience. Then climb into your two person kayak, and paddle at your own pace as you follow your guide down the coastline to a hidden cove where your snorkeling station is set up. Once there you will be fitted out with the supplied snorkel equipment including float vest. Explore the clear, sheltered cove on your own, or follow your guide as he points out the highlights of the undersea home of parrot fish, sea urchins, fan coral, trumpet fish, conch, and sea turtles. From the snorkel station, re-board your kayak to continue your paddle to Frigate Bay Beach. As your guide team secures your kayak, stroll up the beach to the shaded area where your refreshments of local seasonal fruits and juices await you. will set out refreshments, featuring local seasonal fruits and juices as well as bottled water. Relax and recall the highlights of your excursion enjoying a brief beach break Your driver will be standing by, ready to return you to your chosen pickup point.
If you prefer, you may decline the return transportation, extend your beach break and return independently later. Taxis are plentiful and the staff in any of the dozen beach bars (known locally as "the strip" ) will be happy to assist.
