CABIN BOAT EXCURSION
A trip to the abandoned settlement of Kangeq is a trip back in time, for a glimse of life in the early days of Greenland. This is the area that the danish priest Hans Egede first founded a settlement in his pursuit for the last norsemen.
A short ride takes us to the abandoned settlement of Kangeq. This is a walk through history. The settlement was abandoned in the 60s by order from the capital and now stands as it was left.
This is also the area where Hans Egede lived and worked some of the years he lived in Greenland.
The tour takes around 40 minutes from Nuuk, before you set foot in this abandoned place. You will then have appx 75 minutes in land with your guide, before we head back to Nuuk.
This area was also the place to be for the old inuit cultures, as they use to meet from south and north and exhange gifts, do business and arrange marriages.
