Experience the natural wonders and rich history of Joshua Tree National Park with a Desert Naturalist on this guided open-air Jeep eco-tour. Your professional naturalist guide will take you on a journey through the high desert's two ecosystems and the transition zone, immersing you in the sights and sounds of one of the newest parks in the National Park system. 

As your guide shares their knowledge of the local plants and animals and the area's history, you'll explore the Park for a full three hours, with several additional stops for photo ops and short nature walks and/or hikes based on guest preferences. Guests departing from the Greater Palm Springs area will enjoy a narrated tour of the Coachella Valley, making this the perfect excursion to combine with your Palm Springs vacation. Take in the stunning view at the Key's View Overlook, offering a panoramic view from 5,185 ft. in elevation. 

 You'll also be treated to a delicious picnic lunch in the Park.

Things to know

Before you book

  • This tour is suitable for children aged 3 and up.

  • Children must 1) weigh over 40 pounds OR 2) be at least 40 inches tall to ride in our Jeeps.

  • Children under the age of 8 or 4’9″ tall must ride in a booster seat supplied by the guest and secured by a 2-point seat belt in the back of the Jeep

  • Guests who are pregnant or who have neck or back issues or injuries should consult with their doctor before taking this tour

Before you go

  • Hiking boots or walking/tennis shoes are required. Please no open-toe shoes or sandals.

  • A hat and sunscreen are strongly advised

  • Our Jeeps cannot safely secure an infant car seat that requires a 3-point safety belt.
