Make your way to the area in the late morning to meet your local foodie guide, and set off by foot through the charming historic streets. Your first stop is a deli specializing in smoked meats in the district of Outremont, home to a large Hasidic Jewish community. Enjoy a taste of three dishes used in traditional Jewish cooking while your guide gives an overview of Montreal’s culinary makeup. Continue on to a local kosher bakery to sample sumptuous Jewish desserts, which may include chocolate babka, triangular stuffed hamentashen, nutty rugelach and poppy seed cake.
