Your tour begins with a 10am pickup from your central Cádiz hotel by private vehicle. Soak up the scenery on the around 30-minute journey to Jerez de la Frontera, the birthplace of the Flamenco.
Start your day exploring the Flamenco neighborhoods of Santiago and San Miguel, where the local gypsy community still meet to sing, dance, and play in the many bars and peñas flamencas. Accompanied by your private guide, learn about the birth of the Flamenco during the 17th century; the ancient rivalry between Santiago and San Miguel; and famous flamenco stars from Jerez, such as Manuel Molina, Antonio Chacón, La Paquera, Lola Flores, José Mercé, Terremoto, and Antonio Ríos Fernández “El Pipa.”
Then, experience the rich cultural traditions for yourself as you attend a spectacular show and lose yourself in the colorful costumes, passionate dance moves, and hypnotic rhythms of the Flamenco. Finish your experience with a delicious lunch of typical Andalusian food, accompanied by traditional sherry.
After lunch, head into Jerez for a walking tour of the city’s historic highlights and visit landmarks such as the Cathedral, the Alcazar, and the churches of the Reconquista. Enjoy some free time to shop for souvenirs or enjoy a drink at one of the terrace cafés in Arenal or Plateros squares, before setting out on the return journey to Cádiz.
Your tour ends with drop-off at your Cádiz hotel around 7pm.
