Make your own way to the private home in Cantoment Agra for your home-cooked lunch.
Your host gives you a brief tour of her kitchen that includes an introduction to spices that are frequently used in Indian cooking. Influenced by Mughal cooking techniques, the cuisine of Uttar Pradesh is known for its use of saffron, cardamom and other rich spices, as well as paneer (cheese) and mutton (goat).
Your meal might include traditional dishes such as shammi kebab (mincemeat cutlets), chicken kofta (meatball curry), white mutton stew, mutter paneer (peas and fresh cheese), sukhi arbi (dry colocasia leaves), and gajar ka halwa (carrot pudding). You'll be seated at the dining table with your host, and leave the home with new friends.
If available on the day of your visit, your host's husband will demonstrate how to make paratha (Indian flat bread) and tie a turban.
Please note: This experience provides the chance to visit an authentic, local home to share the culture and cuisine together. It is not a professional cooking class.
