Hong Kong Island Morning Sightseeing Tour:
Start your tour with morning hotel pickup (select hotels only), then descend and pass the pretty scenery of Repulse Bay as you make your way to a floating community in Aberdeen Harbour. Your guide explains the history of the town where fishermen live on traditional junks. If you wish, you can take a cruise around the harbor on a sampan, a traditional flat-bottomed wooden boat (at additional cost).
Next up, do some shopping at Stanley Market, a top site in Hong Kong for shopping bargains. Browse shops that sell everything from silk clothing and sportswear to Chinese costume jewelry. Then stop by a jewelry manufacturer to see carefully crafted pieces made with gold and gemstones.
Then, head off with your guide to the funicular tram stop. Hop aboard the tram and ascend Victoria Peak. Take in panoramic views of Hong Kong from the viewpoint, looking over Kowloon and surrounding islands.
Sheung Wan District Afternoon Walking Tour:
In Sheung Wan, you can see how the past and present day mingle in the center of the city. Travel back in time to the early 1900s when you board a tram built in 1904. Trams like this were Hong Kong's first form of mass transit. Once you have traveled some distance by tram, disembark with your guide at Bonham Road. Walk by street vendors that sell dried seafood, then do some window shopping at Cat Street's many art galleries and antique shops. Then turn down Hollywood Road to discover several blocks with Chinese ceramics and furniture, funeral items and historical memorabilia. Stop into Man Mo Temple where huge spirals of incense flutter from the ceilings and pictures of Chinese deities decorate the walls.
Next up, ride on the Central Escalator, the longest covered escalator in the world, then visit one of Hong Kong’s oldest food markets to sample Southeast Asian fruits such as rambutan and durian (own expense). Your walking tour ends at Cha Chaan Teng, a favorite local café. Taste traditional Chinese snacks such as egg custard and milk tea before bidding your guide farewell.
