Please Note: Between January 12 and March 31, 2026, the Vatican Museums will carry out a dedicated preservation project focused on Michelangelo’s "Last Judgment" in the Sistine Chapel. To allow specialists to work safely and thoroughly, the entire wall featuring the fresco will be covered by scaffolding throughout the intervention. The Sistine Chapel will remain open to visitors, though this specific artwork will be temporarily out of view during the restoration period. We appreciate your patience and understanding as essential conservation work is performed on this remarkable masterpiece.

Cap off your visit by sitting down to a delicious meal in the Pinecone Courtyard.
Description
As the most unforgettable and exclusive way of experiencing the Sistine Chapel, this experience gives you the choice of when you’d like to enjoy VIP access. The morning tour gives you an unprecedented look inside the sacred halls of the Vatican at sunrise. In the evening, you’ll stay inside the gates after they close to the general public for a relaxing after-hours visit. Either way, you’ll enjoy the same exquisite, crowd-free experience at the Sistine Chapel and explore with a knowledgeable official Vatican guide.
On the morning tour, you’ll arrive at the Vatican as the sun begins to rise over Rome and access the Museum at 7:30 am — much earlier than when many other "early access” experiences begin. View the galleries and Raphael Rooms as you make your way to the Sistine Chapel as the first visitors to enter the Vatican Museums for the day.
As the crowning moment of your experience, you’ll step into the Sistine Chapel with a select small group of other visitors with VIP Access. The next 20 minutes are all yours to contemplate the Chapel in impeccable silence with just a handful of other visitors around — a far cry from the crowds that will arrive later in the day. By 9:15 am, you’ll be settled in the Pinecone Courtyard, ready to enjoy a homemade breakfast spread in the historic and picturesque surroundings.
If you opt for the evening tour, you’ll meet your official Vatican guide at 3:30 pm and enter the Museums with skip-the-line tickets. Breeze past the crowds as you head off to visit the majestic galleries and Raphael Rooms, following the last wave of visitors for the day. Just after 5 pm, as the Sistine Chapel is closing to the public for the day, you'll step inside after the crowds and enjoy VIP access with just a select small group of other visitors. After the near-empty Chapel has taken your breath away, you'll head to the Pinecone Courtyard, ready to toast the day with a spritz or glass of prosecco together with a light dinner buffet.

You’ll be in the most capable hands following the best route possible to experience this world-famous collection.

Short Description
Meet your guide directly outside the Vatican Museums and skip the line straight into one of the most impressive arrays of art in the world. Take in the magnificent surroundings as your guide equips you with all the context you need to understand its history and significance. You’ll walk through all of the main galleries within the Vatican Museums including the Raphael Rooms laden with extraordinary frescoes by the Renaissance master, the ornate sculptures in the Octagonal courtyard, and the awe-inspiring Gallery of Maps. Did you know there are over 70,000 distinct pieces calling the Vatican home, stretched over a staggering nine miles? It’s little surprise so many visitors barely know where to begin! We’ve solved this problem by arranging for you to be accompanied by an official Vatican guide. You’ll be in the most capable hands following the best route possible to experience this world-famous collection.
Few things could follow the magnificence of the Vatican Museums, but the Sistine Chapel is always the crown jewel of any Vatican tour. That’s why we’ve taken extra care to make this a truly one-of-a-kind visit. As the last of the regular ticketholders leave, you’ll make your way the short distance to the Sistine Chapel. Outside of regular opening hours and without the usual numbers, you’ll experience a real rarity: witnessing Michelangelo’s masterpiece in peace.
After exploring the many wonders of the Vatican, you’re sure to have an appetite. So next, you’ll stop at the Pinecone Courtyard where you’ll taste a selection of aperitivo and behold the exquisite courtyard where Popes once held feasts and fetes of their own. Since the Vatican will be closed to the public, you’ll be treated to a rare oasis of tranquility – an ideal chance for you to reflect on your enlightening afternoon.
