History Walking Tour of Old Montreal

Summary Description

When booking, choose between the east-side (mid-morning departure) or west-side (early afternoon departure) tour. Alternatively, you can book both, which gives you a break for an independent lunch.

Meet at the Place d'Armes, where your guide will give you an orientation before your tour starts. Learn about Quebec’s rich religious heritage, and admire the building’s impressive stained-glass windows.

From there, set out on foot through the streets of Old Montreal, leaving navigation to your guide. Listen to commentary on the city’s history, architecture, art, and culture as you visit highlights such as Sulpician Seminary, the Champ de Mars, City Hall, St.-Jacques Street, Place Jacques-Cartier, and  Place Royale.

End up at the domed public market, Bonsecours Market, which is more than 100 years old. From there, you can explore further on your own with your guide’s suggestions.
