Historic Georgetown Walking Tour

Meet your guide at the Georgetown Waterfront Park at 2 p.m. for your 2-hour walking tour of the Georgetown neighborhood. Stroll through the historic streets of this port town en route to famous homes owned by prominent families such as the Lincolns and Kennedys, taverns where American history was decided, and other landmarks including Georgetown University and Tudor Place Mansion.

Throughout the tour, listen to informative commentary from a guide with extensive knowledge about the area. Spend five to 10 minutes at each spot — just enough time to hear a story and take a picture — before moving along at a casual pace determined by your group.

The tour will conclude at Georgetown University at roughly 4 p.m.

Beginning in the 1700s, Georgetown was the economic and social center for the area that would later become our nation's capital. Many different groups and characters have cycled through this small town, all of whom left their marks with buildings, homes and churches. On this 2-hour walking tour, you'll weave you through the mysteries and legends with your guide who will provide you with a sense of the history of this still thriving port town. See homes once owned by the Kennedy and Lincoln families, the Old Stone House, Georgetown University, and Tudor Place Mansion.
