Hiking Tour: Sugarcane Factory & Stunning Cliffs

The hike along the Larano Cliffs is definitely one of the most fantastic tours Madeira has to offer! The paths lead us from Machico, the former capital of the island, along the irrigation channels, surrounded by farmland and mimosa trees, to the view point Boca do Risco. Here we walk along the coast and admire the views over the Atlantic Ocean, the Ponta de São Lourenço and the Penha de Aguia. In Porto da Cruz we visit a sugar cane factory and I explain how the famous Madeira rum is produced, of course a Poncha tasting is not to be missed!
