Use the supplied directions to travel independently to the Riverston Telecoms Tower, and meet your guide. Wear comfortable shoes and bring clothes for warm, windy, or rainy conditions.
After an introduction, climb from the trail head to Riverston peak. Wind through lush slopes and on route, gaze at the four peaks of the forested Knuckles Mountain range. Riverston is the fifth and shares the rich biodiversity of the region, largely untouched by development.
At the top, reach a 984-feet (300-meter) drop, and absorb wider views of the mist-laced Knuckles and Thelgamu river valley.
Return to the trail head and ride a vehicle to the grasslands of Pittawala Paththana. Walk through these beautiful plains to what’s known as ‘Mini World’s End,’ where a sharp escarpment reveals breathtaking highland views.
After taking photos here, return to the trail head, and continue to a local village for a traditional home-cooked Sri Lankan lunch.
After your meal, follow a jungle track past streams and rivers to the Sera Ella, one of the island’s most beautiful waterfalls.
View the tumbling waters and cool off in the spray sitting on the rock seats before descending and driving back to the TV Tower, where your tour concludes.
