Summary

After 20 min driving by car from our meeting point in the center of Metsovo, we will reach our starting point for the Hiking Activity. Between the borders of southern and northern Pindos, there is the plateau of Metsovo with the lake of Aoos springs and on the other side the Valia Calda National Park (warm valley). Somewhere between this, on the alpine plateau of Mavrovouni you will have the chance to see the well hidden mythical Drakolimnes (Dragon Lakes) and the peak of Flega. For the first hour we walk uphill to the high plateu of Mavrovouni mountain. From that point we follow the Trail, that after 2hrs. with some ups and downs bring us to the very well hidden alpic lakes (Dragon Lakes) on 2000m altitude. After a short break for a snack and the necessary fotos that will make this experience unforgettable, we follow the path ascent to the peak Flega 2157m. The panoramic view from there is amazing! The Aoos springs lake, the National Park of Valia Calda, the Dragon Lakes of Flega, Mt. Smolikas 2637(the second highest in Greece) will impress us and we will have the oportunity to shot some nice fotos. From the Peak we start the way back to the car aprox. 2:00-2:30hrs.
