Summary

In this tour you will learn the process of the pride product of our country: Coffee. We are going to see the production of this grain in a Coffee Farm located in the middle of a biodiverse landscape in the heart of Colombia. During the excursion we will see how the process begins, from the sowing of the seed, its formation, its main pests and diseases, its relationship with the environment, its collection and its processing until dry parchment (as coffee is normally marketed in Colombia ). To end the activity, we will enjoy a cup of special Colombian coffee, produced in our plantation and roasted in the cooperative of coffee growers in our area.

Why take this tour?

We are a family business with 80 years dedicated to the production of coffee. Tours are conducted by family members. We have a varietal garden with more than 10 varieties of coffee. We not only produce coffee, we have great biodiversity in the middle of our plantation and it is possible to taste different fruits in the middle of the journey. We have different types of coffee and methods to taste after the tour.

Since 2015 we have opened the doors of our “Casa Vieja” coffee farm so that visitors and coffee lovers can learn first-hand about the bean process and enjoy the coffee landscape. The visit begins at the Casa Vieja farm where a coffee expert, a member of our family, awaits you, who will take you through the producing farm and show you the process from start to finish. What will we do during the tour? Knowing the entire process of the coffee production chain, starting with the seed, we will observe different types of varietals, we will learn about the history of the bean, we will walk through a coffee plantation, we go through the benefit of coffee to finish roasting the beans that are going to be prepared in a delicious drink product of our land to talk about its marketing and preparation. During our walk we will get to know the biodiversity of the area, since the crop is surrounded by different types of trees, fruit trees, plants and flowers.
