Absolutely Phenomenal
I knew I couldn’t leave NYC without seeing a Broadway show, but we didn’t have anything specific picked out. We decided to just play it by ear and ended up grabbing last‑minute second‑balcony seats to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Honestly, best spontaneous decision ever. The moment the curtains lifted, it felt like pure magic. The effects were so good they looked like real spells flying across the stage, and the cast was phenomenal — full of energy and totally brought every character to life. A fantastic Broadway experience.
Magical and entrancing performance.
Magical and entrancing performance. I read this script of this play to both my children and enjoyed it as a good sequel to the Harry Potter series. However I'd no idea how fantastic the actual stage performance would be. My jaw literally hit the floor several times at the depth of the special stage effects, completely mesmerising! The performances were great, very talented acting especially from Aiden Close. Really enjoyed the whole experience, will really want to see it again, thank you!
Disappointing and Rushed — A Magical Letdown
I found this to be one of the worst plays I have ever seen - and I have seen a lot. While the show is highly anticipated, the actual execution falls completely flat. The acting is incredibly screechy and over-the-top, making it hard to connect with any of the characters. Despite running for nearly three hours, the play feels completely hurried, rushing through plot points without giving the story or diaglogue room to breathe. And don’t get me started on the choreography - or lack there of. If I see them flip one more cape I will have to say Avada Kedevra!!! Ultimately, it is just boring. Huge special effects cannot save a production that lacks heart, nuance, and good pacing. Save your time and money - DO NOT GO!!!
