“Harlem has a history of economic, political, and artistic ‘highs-and-lows’. Italian and Jewish immigration slowed by the 1920’s-30s’, leading to the ‘Harlem Renaissance’ - a migration of notable African-Americans. The Great Depression in the 30’s saw a major decline; as stances on rent, lowering education, and failing black-owned businesses burdened the neighborhood for years to come. By the 1970’s the fiscal problems of NYC challenged Harlem even further. Come ride with us and learn about Harlem’s past and the shifts in reform that started in the 1990’s. Renovated brownstones, some of the most scenic parks in NYC, and historic buildings dedicated to Musicians and Civil Rights Movements of the 1950s, make this a tour not to be missed while visiting NYC. ”
