Receive a morning pickup from your Santiago hotel and transfer by air-conditioned van to your first sightseeing stop at the city’s “Club Hípico de Santiago” (Equestrian Club).
Learn about the inspiration behind this elegant piece of architecture, which was inspired by a similar club in France, and then proceed on an architecture-themed trip through one of Santiago’s oldest and wealthiest areas. You’ll proceed from there to the city center to check out landmarks including the Government Palace (La Moneda), the Post Office Building, and the Parade Ground. You’ll also visit either San Cristobal Hill or Santa Lucía Hill, two of the highest points in the city, depending on which option you’ve pre-selected.
After visiting one of these two scenic overlooks continue to the Fine Arts Museum of Santiago, then on to Bellavista, one of Santiago’s hippest neighborhoods. This bohemian district is home to a range of trendy businesses ranging from art galleries to antique mansions to cutting-edge bars and restaurants. You’ll also learn about famous Chilean poet Pablo Neruda.
Leaving Bellavista, stop by a traditional Chilean craft shop and visit the city’s Central Market. You’ll then be dropped off back at your hotel.
