Half-Day Scenic Bike Tour

Make your way to a meeting point in Mombasa, where you get suited up for a half day of riding. Choose between four classic rides that cover between 14 miles (23 kilometers) and 19 miles (31 kilometers), with difficulties that range from one to four (see Additional Info for details).

Select Along the Coast for a leisurely ride through traditional African villages, palm trees, and mango forests, earning beautiful views of the Indian Ocean along the way. Opt for Three Coastal Areas, and cover beach, palm forests, and semiarid terrain—the three climate zones that define the coast.

The Along the Creek tour sets out from the lively town of Mtwapa to a series of inland Giriama settlements, while The Bike Adventure route tackles more challenging, steeper terrain between arms of the Mtwapa Creek. All rides include bike rental and refreshments, and conclude at the original departure point.

About a third of the tour follows the coast and at some places we can enjoy the view on the Indian Ocean. Then we reach the semi arid area where we climb some hilltops and cross arms of the Mtwapa Creek. From a high hill we have an fantastic sight over the North Coast Area and different Creeks around Mombasa.
