This half day hike begins on Tafelberg Road, only a couple of kilometers from the lower cable station on Table Mountain. Your knowledgeable and passionate guide will be with you at the start of the trail to begin the "zigzag" ascent.
The hike is a quick way up and was used by the first explorers and tourists to the summit of the worlds 7th natural wonder, Table Mountain. It takes 2 hours on average to get to the top and it is recommended you take the cable car back down in order to give you more time in your day.
While you are ascending and when you are at the summit your guide will point out features of interest and places to get that perfect Instagram shot. Look for local bird and flower species, the common Rock Hyrax "Dassie" and if you are lucky an exotic but rare Himalayan Mountain Goat.
Take breaks, breath the fresh air, and enjoy gorgeous views with cliff faces towering over you. Welcome encouragement from fellow hikers and locals cheering you to the summit. Look back onto views of Devils Peak, Table Bay and the Mother City center.
Once at the top you can enjoy the relief of a flat surface to explore. The panoramic views will wow you. This is the only mountain peak in Cape Town where you can enjoy a coffee, beer or bite to eat in a summit cafe.
