The first thing that comes to mind when talking about the Medici family is their political influence, their power and their connections with the most famous artist from that period. But who where the lords of Florence?
This tour aims to focus on their story seen through the traces still present in their neighborhood and in the church under their patronage.
We will start with a presentation of the family and its arrival in Florence. We will see from the outside their Renaissance palace and then we will enter the Laurentian complex. Here we will visit the amazing cloister and the crypt, before moving to the church where we will see the famous old sacristy. We will then end with the Medici chapels which also houses the new sacristy, one of the immortal masterpieces by Michelangelo.
