After pickup from your centrally located hotel in Hyderabad, meet your guide and start your walking tour by visiting Chowmahalla Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates to the 1880s and was built for the powerful monarch, the Nizam of Hyderabad. Then, explore the markets and pearl shops of Hyderabad en route to Charminar, one of Hyderabad's most famous sites. Enter the building and follow your guide up the narrow steps for sweeping views of the city. Continue to Mecca Masjid, one of India's largest mosques, which can accommodate as many as 10,000 worshipers during holidays. Completed in 1694, this stunning building employed 8,000 masons and has Belgian crystal chandeliers. From here, stroll over to Badshahi Ashurkhana a sacred Islamic mourning site before touring to the 19th-century British Residency. Wrap up your tour with a cup of hot tea known as Irani Chai, a favorite refreshment in Hyderabad. Afterward, an air-conditioned vehicle returns you to your hotel.
