Vindolanda Roman Fort and Museum admission. Tour will visit Homesteads Roman Fort should Vindolanda be closed.
In order to retain the integrity of the tour and try to ensure that all our customers have the best possible experience, we do cap bookings from any one party to 8 passengers.
Please note that Vindolanda is closed yearly during the month of January and part of February. Instead, we take you to Housesteads Roman Fort during this period.

Wonderful historic tour

A great historic experience, particularly if you are a Roman history buff. Vindolanda is an old Roman fort , as well as an active archeological site

Terrific experience.

Vindalanda was amazing A lot to see. We also walked through fields next to Hadrians Wall. Some of these are farm fields so watch your step! Wear boots! Everyone enjoyed the trip, driver was very informative about history, local customs, anything you wanted to ask about Scotland and parts of Northern England.

Hadrian’s Wall tour

A little hard to find the tours meeting point info via viator info, just have to read the fine print, and arrive 15 mins before the listed time! That’s the departure time not boarding time (saw several other people miss their tour d/t this!) Our tour guide Keith was awesome! So knowledgeable and pleasant. The sights were amazing and the history was so cool. Long day trip, but we arrived back in Edinburgh right on time. Jedburgh Abbey (optional) cost about 15 pounds for the 2 of us to enter and walk around quickly, would recommend doing this, it’s even better from the inside. Stoping at the England Scotland border provided some cool views. Lunch at the museum/archeological site of Vindolanda was good, cute little cafe. Definitely bring some good walking shoes, Vindolanda has a steep uphill path to see the archeological site. Keith also brought up to some optional view points with quick hikes on the way to and back. Plenty of toilet breaks including a rest stop option with ability to grab snacks for the way back. Totally recommend this tour!

Just what the title said....

Just what the title said. Very good exposure to the Wall with four separate stops giving a very thorough understanding of the significance. Also stops at Jeddburgh Abbey and border crossing were amazing. Our driver Roger shared his incredible knowledge of the area just like a true Scottish Storyteller.
