Follow in the ancient Romans' footsteps with a stop in Jedburgh to visit the ruins of the 12th-century Augustinian abbey before continuing to Carter Bar to see the Anglo-Scottish border. After crossing into England, enjoy a scenic drive through Northumberland National Park.

The next stop is Steel Rigg, one of the richest Roman archaeological sites in Britain. Enjoy free time to explore Hadrian's Wall, the 73-mile-long (117-kilometer-long) cobbled fortification built to separate Scotland from the Roman Empire. Next stop at Vindolanda where you can explore the museum, and to have lunch break (own expense).

After visiting Birdoswald to see one of the best-preserved Roman forts on Hadrian’s Wall, it's back to Edinburgh where your tour concludes.
