Group Tour: Malta's Best Attractions in a Tour

Summary

A typical day tour starts in Valletta (WHS) the capital city of Malta where your first stop in St. John's Cathedral with its Caravaggio's masterpieces, the 'Beheading of John the Baptist' and 'St. Jerome Writing' followed by a walk to the Upper Barakka Garden for a view of the Grand Harbour. Transport then takes you to Mdina, the old Capital city of Malta where you meander around the narrow winding streets of this medieval town, discovering its charm and beauty, reaching the bastions walls to enjoy a great view over the island of Malta. The next stop will take you to Dingli Cliffs for a short photo stop, and then continue your journey to Hagar Qim temple (WHS), a prehistoric temple dating back to 3,600 BC. The Blue Grotto is close by and so providing the boats are running then you can visit the Blue Grotto and the neighboring caves near by, a twenty minute boat ride. A lunch break in Marsaxlokk, a fishing village, gives you the opportunity to walk along the promenade watching fishermen mending/cleaning the nets, repairing painting on their boats, or entering the harbor with their daily catch. This harbour is dotted with many colorful fishing boats. You sit outside and enjoy a meal (lunch not included).  The rest of the afternoon is spent around the harbor area, visiting Birgu a medieval city occupied by the Knights during their first decades in Malta from 1531 to 1571. Your tour finishes with a boat trip, a gondola (boat trip not included) back to Valletta, getting to see the harbor from a different perspective. The cost of the tour includes land transport with a chauffeur driven fully air conditioned mini van, equipped with micro phone (including pick up and drop off from residence in Malta).  The cost also includes the services of a professional licensed tourist guide. The extras on the day are the entrance ticket to Cathedral, Hagar Qim temple, the two boat trips and lunch.
