Good to know
- Check-in is from 7.15am at Reef Fleet Terminal, 1 Spence Street, Cairns. Please make your way to the Down Under Cruise and Dive counter to check-in. Boat departs 8.00am.
- All divers are required to complete a Medical Questionnaire. In a commitment to the safety of our guests, divers over 65 years must have a medical clearance with a physician the confirms they are Fit To Dive. Please be aware that certain medical conditions (e.g. asthma, heart disease, diabetes) and ANY prescription medications will require a letter or email from a doctor clearing you to dive. This clearance must state your full name, the doctor's name, doctor's signature and practice and the clearance to dive for the specific medications/condition. Please review the operators Medical Questionnaire and Terms & Conditions prior to travel. Please note your Dive Instructor will conduct their own risk assessment on the day of travel to ensure the safety of all divers. This means the instructor has the authority to cancel a dive if they feel there is any risk involved, regardless of prior medical documentation.
- Children aged and under 12 years (introductory) and 10 years (certified divers) are not permitted to participate in onboard diving activities as per Queensland Australian Law.
- Children under the age of 18 must be in the immediate company of a parent or legal guardian.
- For Certified Diving, evidence of dive certification (PADI, SSI, etc.) is required from all divers day of wishing to participate in a certified dive.
- Diving within 24 hours before your flight is not permitted.
- Due to comfort, weight and balance of the aircraft, the weight limit for helicopters is 130kg. Please contact the supplier directly for further information.
- Special dietary requirements must be confirmed at least 24 hours prior to travel directly with the tour operator. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options are available.
- If you chose a package with a dive, this includes 1 pre-booked dive only (note: dives are not included with snorkel-only packages). Additional dives can be purchased onboard on the day or direct with the operator prior to travel.
- For the intro dive, no experience is needed
- No refunds for voluntary uncompleted or attempted dives.

Wonderful day on the Reef with Down Under
Go on this trip, you won’t regret it! The snorkel experience was stunning with colourful reef fish and coral. The water was a bit choppy but the crew made sure everyone was safe and accounted for, with support before jumping in and in the water, plus a lookout checking all swimmers are accounted for. The intro scuba experience was run in a way that made me feel very secure, at a max of 10-12m underwater, in small groups with an experienced instructor. The safety presentations were well done with a lot of good humour and laughs! Shoutout to Mike, Dom, Phil, and Shannon! We met some incredible fish including a very friendly one who swam right up to us and stayed close to the crew like a dog!! The cruise was flawlessly run and highly organised and the crew were relaxed, professional, highly capable, and - best of all- clearly enjoying themselves and doing what they loved. One small example - 3 designated “dry” bathrooms for use when dry and 2 “wet” bathrooms for use when wet. Genuinely this is a game changer! Simple to implement and makes a big difference to comfort and experience. On top of all that, the team actively work to replant the reef and support its growth and welfare. All in all, an unforgettable day out enjoying the Reef. 🪸
Best thing about Cairns
The great barrier reef has so much to see! The crew helps you and looks after you. I’m not a very good swimmer and felt very safe!!! I enjoyed it a lot!!!!
Top Tier Experience
Hands down the best all round experience. From the fantastic guide Jack, to the gorgeous and large boat, to the beautiful food that never ran out. Diving was great. Highly recommend guided dives - Jack knew the reef and all the marine life like the back of his hand and was just all round a fun guy. Crew were so experienced and professional, running multiple well-facilitated safety checks and making sure everyone is hydrated and had enough to eat. You can tell they take pride in their customer services. Really was the funnest day, despite not being perfect conditions, we barely noticed because the entire experience was just so well rounded.

Fantastic snorkeling experiences! The tropical fish were beautiful; I’ve never seen such a variety of colors on aquatic life. Lunch was great as well.
