Grand Tour of Mykonos with Optional Armenistis Tour and Sunset Cruise

Summary

The Grand tour of Mykonos offers a visit to the “soul” of Mykonos, a full day detailed look at all the highlights on the island. You start this adventure with an authentic Island tour, that covers all traditional areas of the island, not often covered on a conventional tour. The first stop is the small port of St. Ioannis, followed by the Mykonos airport, Ano Mera Village (one of the island's most typical agricultural and stock raising areas) and then a traditional Mykonian family farm, for a glimpse at the Mykonian country life and to see a small local cultivated field and some domestic animals. Passing by the Ano Mera village you will be guided through the “Panagia Tourliani” Monastery’s chambers and also visit the nearby open air market with vegetables and other local products. More highlights include some of the most distant beaches such as "Kalo Livadi", "Kalafati" and "Agia Anna", the narrow streets of Mau and the Mykonos dam. Our island tour ends with a beautiful “photo” stop at a location where you can grasp a beautiful panoramic view of Mykonos town. After the picture taking, we start a new chapter of the tour, with a visit to the “Mykonian Spiti”, in order to enjoy a traditional home made lunch and to experience the traditional Greek way of life, the culture, the Greek art of cooking. “Spiti” means home and this is exactly where you are welcome at during this stop of our Grand tour. The house belongs to a local Mykonian family, whose target is to instill the hospitality and the everyday lifestyle of a traditional Mykonian family. Right after your traditional lunch is over, there will be some time for relaxation in the back yard of the house, before we head towards the Mykonos town, where we offer you an opportunity of a lifetime to experience first-hand its true beauty, by walking you through its history and re-living some of its past memories. Highlights of this experience include: Manto Square, the famous Matogianni area, the home of Manto Mavrogenous' mother, the traditional "Gioras bakery" (an underground and old wooden stove), the famous five in a row windmills which still stand proudly as a local attraction after their operation was paused. Passing by 'Little Venice' you will have 15 minutes free time, and after you will visit the elaborate church of "Panagia Paraportiani", one of the most famous architectural structures in Greece.
