Gourmet edition: Segway tour and tapas

Depart from Plaza San Miguel in central Madrid, spending the first few minutes of your trip getting outfitted with and helmet and learning to control your electric-powered Segway.

Once you feel good on your Segway, you’ll continue on an exploration some of the Spanish capital’s best-known and off-the-beaten-path sights. Visit landmarks including the Madrid ‘Teatro Real’ (Opera House), Almudena Cathedral, the Palacio Real (Royal Palace) and the Temple of Debod. You’ll also get to discover some of Madrid’s historic squares such as Plaza de Puerta Cerrada and La Plaza de Ramales.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite from your Segway sightseeing trip, head to Madrid’s San Miguel Market, where you’ll dine on an included sampling of gourmet tapas from one of several of the center’s diverse eateries. Your trip will finish here.

Explore the historic sights of central Madrid during a 1.5-hour Segway Tour and then enjoy a mini tasting of Spanish Tapas with a drink in one of the typical restaurants next to the San Miguel Market.
