Our boat will be docked just by your ship at the port of Santarem. In case she is anchored we shall be close to the tenders dock.

We shall cruise along the fish market, the meeting of the waters and the city front, learning about the city history and the history of my family enjoying the breeze and watching Pink Dolphins, cormorants, great egrets. As we access the MAICA river 35m later to see more animals like sloths, hawks, herons, ducks. Mineral water, and other safe drinks are always available during the course of the tour. Once we arrive at Maica we embark safely on smaller boats to explore shallow areas. Those who want to go fishing for Piranhas we provide basic gear.

From January to August, the forest is flooded and we can access some amazing creeks and enjoy Nature at the closest. Canoeing through the flooded forest is done from February to August. I often need 5 hours to make this tour but if i have more time is better. Our way back in time to the ship is guaranteed of course! Please bring a hat and sun lotion. No mosquitoes!

Our boat is very spacious and has good ventilation. Our tour lasts longer and has focus on wildlife observation and the closest contact with nature. Safe bottled drinks are served as well as cashew nuts, brazil nuts, fresh fruit, beer and caipirinhas. We use smaller boats to explore shallower areas and creeks and these also get us closer to wildlife. I am very experienced in this area, having worked as lecturer on ships and I also contributed to some of the best History books, namely The thief at the end of the world by Joe Jackson, Fordlandia by Greg Grandin. In addition, we give away a booklet with great photographs of the wildlife to be observed. It can be useful during your entire Amazon cruise.

My grand father moved here in 1850s and dealt with confederates and Victorian naturalists. All this creates a perfect atmosphere for a great time in the short period of time you stay in my hometown.
