Begin with hotel pickup from central Xian, and journey by air-conditioned coach to the Banpo Neolithic Museum just outside the city.
Hear how the museum stands on the remains of a Neolithic village dating from about 4,500 BC, learning how it features reconstructions and remnants of the original houses alongside other exhibits.
Head inside, and take a tour with your guide providing fascinating insight into the villagers’ long-ago lives and matriarchal society. See the remains of their houses, kilns, cemetery, and age-old utensils such as sickles and jugs.
After a break for lunch at a Chinese restaurant, continue to the world-famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, and the Mausoleum of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
See the mausoleum, and enjoy a guided visit of the museum, home to the clay army of more than 8,000 soldiers, chariots, and horses. Gaze at the pits holding the massed battalions, and learn how they were assembled in around 210 BC to safeguard Shi Huang in the afterlife.
After admiring the army, pay a short visit to a Terracotta miniature factory to see how the terracotta is worked, and perhaps purchase souvenirs (own expense).
Your tour then concludes with a hotel drop-off in Xian.
