Take a break from admiring Iguacu Falls to visit the other attractions in Misiones province on this full-day tour. After pickup at your Puerto Iguazú hotel, travel 155 miles (250 km) via coach to the San Ignacio Mission. Built in 1632, this mission has been partially reconstructed and helps visitors learn about the Jesuit missionaries in Argentina during the 17th and 18th centuries. While strolling around the crumbling mission buildings, learn from your guide what it might have been like to live like as a native or a missionary in this region over three centuries ago. Back aboard your vehicle, you'll travel through the countryside to the Wanda Mines, the source of the region's spectacular naturally formed gemstones. Learn about the formation process of minerals including amethysts, agates, topazes, and quartz crystals. Active since the 1970s, this mine still produces stones that are used for jewelry and decoration today. After touring the mine and the exhibition hall, return to Puerto Iguazú for drop-off at your hotel.
