Your tour begins with a morning pickup from your hotel and a short transfer into downtown Ho Chi Minh City. Accompanied by your guide, set out to explore the French Colonial district on foot, pausing to admire historic buildings such as the old Central Post Office and Notre-Dame Basilica.
Pay a visit to the beautiful Thien Hau pagoda, one of the city’s most beautiful temples, then soak up the atmosphere in Chinatown, the biggest of its kind in Vietnam. Listen as your guide explains a little about the district’s fascinating history as you visit the colorful Chinese shops, peek into traditional Chinese medicine pharmacies, and browse the stalls of the eclectic 'Cho Lon' market.
After enjoying lunch (included) at a local restaurant, continue to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an around 1.5-hour drive out of the city. The site is one of the most renowned remnants of the Vietnam-American war — a vast network of underground tunnels and bunkers, which stretch for over 124 miles (200km).
Hear how the underground war bunkers, command centers, and weapons stores were used by the Viet Cong guerilla fighters during the war, and perhaps even venture underground to crawl through one of the narrow solider tunnels. Before you leave, don’t forget to pose for the classic souvenir photo — peeking out of a camouflaged trapdoor.
Back in Ho Chi Minh City, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
