Get picked up at your hotel or other accommodation in central Cape Town and transferred to the scenic Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
Climb into the Franschhoek Wine Tram to ride through this beautiful countryside, with picturesque vineyards and historic wine estates. The tram operates on a loop, with frequent stops at wineries so you can hop off at any time to go on a wine cellar tour, enjoy a wine tasting, take a walk through a vineyard, or get a bite to eat for lunch (own expense). When you're ready to continue your tour, just hop back on the next tram.
During your wine experience, learn about the history of the French Huguenots who settled this area more than three centuries ago. Hear about how they established vineyards and wineries here based on their knowledge of French wine-making. Today, the wines of the Franschhoek Valley are unique representations of South Africa's viticulture traditions.
Sample robust reds and sparkling whites. Visit large wine estates and small wineries. Eat in one of the many well-known restaurants in the area. How you spend your time is up to you. At the conclusion of your day, you are returned to Cape Town.
