Fujairah and East Coast Tour

After pickup at your central Dubai hotel, relax into your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and set out for the UAE east coast. On route, pass the desert rock known as Fossil Rock, and wind through the Hajar Mountains, a range of craggy peaks running parallel to the coast. Then, head into Fujairah, one of the least developed of the UAE’s seven emirates, hearing about the region’s geography and culture from your guide. Stop at the seaside town of Kalba to take in views over the Gulf of Oman, and watch for sea turtles in the water. Next, continue along the coast to Fujairah town, beautifully located between the Hajar Mountains and the sea. Enjoy a panoramic tour of the sandy beaches, fishing port, and magnificent Grand Mosque as your guide shares interesting facts about the town and its history. Visit Fujairah Heritage Village to view its models of Bedouin homes and traditional implements, and stop to admire the 17th-century hilltop castle of Fujairah Fort, the UAE’s oldest. Plus, head inside Fujairah Museum to see its collections of archaeological relics and Bedouin artifacts, including jewelry and costumes. Break for a delicious buffet lunch at a beachside hotel, absorbing the views across to Snoopy Island, a rocky islet rearing from the Gulf of Oman. If the weather’s right, enjoy an optional swim in the sea before continuing to the Al Badiyah Mosque, the oldest in the UAE. After admiring this small, mud-brick mosque and its lookout tower, drive onward through the port of Dibba to Masafi, famous for its roadside Friday Market. Peruse and perhaps buy handicrafts (own expense) such as pottery, rugs, and jewelry at the stalls before returning Dubai, where your tour ends at the original start point.
