Start Location Notes: Meeting point: At the center of Piazza del Popolo, by the large fountain with the lions and the obelisk. The nearest metro stop is Flaminio (Line A). Our City Wonders coordinators will be wearing blue City Wonders polo shirts or jackets to be easily recognizable at the meeting point.
- The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius is optional and requires a good level of general fitness to complete. The hike is uphill at a 14-degree angle and 20 minutes long (about 1 mile). The hike is prevalently on soft ground, and adequate footwear is recommended. For those who prefer a more leisurely experience, you can instead choose to enjoy a scenic and informative walking tour led by an expert geologist at Vesuvius.
- In rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors and an alternative visit to the city of Sorrento will be included instead where you will get free time to explore the city.
- Please be advised that in the case of events beyond our control, we may need to adjust our itinerary to ensure the safety, quality, and satisfaction of your travel experience.

• It is the individual responsibility of all visitors to arrive at the tour departure points. Clients must arrive at the designated meeting point 20 minutes prior to the scheduled tour time and present their tour voucher to the tour coordinator/guide. We are unable to accommodate late arrivals. Missed tours or tickets due to late arrivals cannot be refunded.
• Our City Wonders guides will have a City Wonders tour sign to be easily recognizable at the meeting point.
• This tour involves a fair amount of walking, comfortable shoes are recommended.
• All customers should bring their own mask to the meeting point. Upon arrival in Pompeii, visitors will be subjected to temperature measurement by means of a thermoscanner. The wearing of a mask in open spaces is advised, but remains obligatory indoors, in crowded spaces and where social distancing of at least one metre cannot be guaranteed. In addition, is mandatory respecting the physical distance of 1 meter outdoors and 1.50 meters indoors, on the site and outside.
