From Porto: Aveiro, Paiva Walkways & Arouca 516 Footbridge

What you'll do?

Cross the Worlds Longest Suspension Footbridge, walk the Paiva Walkways, visit Aveiro and Costa Nova.

The Paiva Walkways is a 7 km boardwalk zig-zagging down along the left bank of Paiva river at Arouca Geopark, a UNESCO Geological site.

The Arouca 516 Footbridge spans 516m-long (1,692ft) across the valley and hangs 175m (576ft) above the Paiva River. Will you dare?

After the walk, another highlight of our day: a delicious meal at a typical restaurant in a small countryside slate stone village. (meat, fish or vegetarian options available).

Afternoon in Aveiro - the so called “Portuguese Venice” - explore the old quarter, the main squares, the fish market and taste one of city's delicacies: sweet-eggs!

Enjoy a boat trip over the canals on the traditional river boats and discover the charming city through the canals.

Visit to the famous haystacks of Costa Nova! See the magnificent fishing village with its wooden houses in bright striped colors.

Notice: Right before our walk starts, we need to go through a winding road over the Paiva mountain. If you have car motion sickness problems, we advise you to have a tablet or a pill to help with that issue.
