At the glacier tongue, we put on the glacier equipment and join the rope team. The guides take you safely across the glacier, where we eventually get the opportunity to use axes and crampons in crevasses.
We take a good break and of course enjoy the view along the way. A completely raw experience! No previous knowledge is necessary. About the trip Just below the Arctic Circle we find Norway's eighth largest glacier, and it spreads mightily from approx. 1,500 meters above sea level and down towards the many lush valleys.
The trip goes from Kjennsvatnet and up to Austre Okstindbreen, which is possibly Norway's oldest glacier at 9,000 years old. At the glacier tongue, we put on the glacier equipment and join the rope team.
