Board your coach on Merchant’s Road in central Galway. Travel along the coast through the quaint villages of Barna, Furbo, Spiddal, and Inverin, and then head inland to the sweeping landscapes of Connemara.
Your first stop is Ionad Culturtha an Phiarsaigh, the summer cottage of nationalist leader Patrick Pearse, with startling vistas across Rosmuc. Travel through wilderness to the pretty fishing village of Roundstone, where, after a photo stop, you join the Wild Atlantic Way. Keep an eye out for Connemara ponies, and savor views along the Sky Road.
Finally, choose between two stops: Connemara National Park, where you can hike for free, or lakeside Kylemore Abbey, where an entrance fee applies. Travel back through majestic mountains and the Inagh Valley, visit the old stone bridge seen in 1950s classic film The Quiet Man and then return to Merchant’s Road.
