Franklin's Footsteps Walking Tour

This entertaining and educational walking tour departs from the Sightseeing Tour kiosk at the Independence Visitor Center. Explore Philadelphia through Benjamin Franklin’s eyes as a professional guide leads the way through the city’s historic district.

Along the way, visit Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and Carpenters’ Hall, a key meeting place in the early history of the United States.

Also, see historic Christ Church, where Franklin and the other Founding Fathers worshiped; the Christ Church Burial Ground, where Franklin and many other historic leaders are buried; and the Betsy Ross House, where it is believed the seamstress created the first American flag.

Finally, visit the National Constitution Center — America's most hands-on history museum and the historic area’s newest attraction. Learn about the US Constitution, a worldwide symbol of freedom and justice, and what it represents.

Join an experienced, costumed guide for an engaging and informative walk through the streets of Old City, the same streets where Ben Franklin and other founding fathers walked when Philadelphia was the birthplace of the country.  The tour passes by Franklin's Grave, Christ Church, Elfreth's Alley, the site of Franklin's House, Independence Hall, and the Liberty Bell.
